About
Both teams seek possesion of a single Orb. The Orb is also called The Ball or The Bomb. Orb Carrier must take the orb to the enemy goal to score.
Features
While not a full list, here is a list of some of the more important features in the game.
Advanced Setup Screen and Customizable game - the main game settings can be configured via a settings screen. Settings can be made on a per map basis if desired, so that a single server can host many different styles of games. Admins have remote access to the settings screen during online play. Many stock UT things can be altered without need for a mutator, such as hoverboards, translocators, multi jumps, dodge jumps, gravity and jump height. Two stock themes exist for ball launcher and ball: regular and necris.
Revamped scoreboard - reformatted to support 32 players, showing kills, deaths, net, ping, connect time, bot skill level and a "not ready" signal, always lining the teams up evenly.
Customizable and moving goals - mappers can totally design their own goals, giving each map a totally different look. All visual elements, including size and shape, can be controlled by the mapper. Goals can be made to move, giving an extra challenge to the game, and bots use dynamic pathing to find them.
Team colors and team possession - ball and ball launcher use team colors, and the ball retains its team color even when dropped to identify which team has control of it.
Fanfare - scoring is more dramatic than it was in the past, and is in the spirit of the idea of carrying a "bomb". Multiple explosions occur every score, and more upon the winning score, marking the utter demise of the losing team.
Advanced Bot AI - bots use dynamic pathing which enables them to find places without the use of path nodes, detecting both horizontal and vertical blockages and navigating around them.
Installation
Copy BombingRun.u and BombingRunGraphics.upk to UTGame\CookedPC, and for new
installations UTBombingRun.ini to My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config. Epic's UT3
patch 2.1 (also called Patch 5) is required.
Mappers: do not publish your bombing run maps. Doing so cooks the bombingrun.u file into the map, making future upgrades to the mod impossible. After building your maps, simply copy them to the published folder.

Release history
Released as Beta 1.0 in January 2008 and iterated through the 1.5x series that year, jumping to 3.0 for a Make Something Unreal Contest entry in 2009 and reaching 3.2 that December. Version 3.22, which only added the pigskin theme for the ball, is the last. Its readme dates itself 06/20/2009, but that must be a slip of the year: the team's own site still offered 3.1 in December 2009, and 3.2 followed later that month, so the packaged 2010-06-20 file timestamps are the real date.
